According to CloudSEK's cyber security experts, the Russian hacker organization "Phoenix" attacked the website and was able to gain access to the ministry's Health Management Information System portal, which contains information on all of India's hospitals, staff members, and doctors.

"We have requested more information and asked the CERT-In to investigate the alleged hacking of the website for the health ministry. They would submit a report, an official source told PTI.

The national nodal organization for reacting to computer security incidents, CERT-In offers government agencies and business organizations services for prevention and response.

The G7-approved price cap on Russian oil was the driving force behind the aim, according to CloudSEK, and Indian officials opted not to break it. They also decided to comply with the sanctions.

In response to this choice, the Russian hacktivist Phoenix posted a number of polls on his Telegram channel inviting his followers to cast their votes.

Phoenix is a known phishing scammer that has been active since January 2022, according to CloudSEK, and it has previously targeted hospitals in Japan and the UK, a US-based healthcare provider for the US military, and the website of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, among other targets. Phoenix is also known for its history of targeting hospitals and has been linked to DDoS attacks against other websites.

Phoenix has a reputation for phishing scams, according to CloudSEK. As of January 2022, it is in operation. In the past, hospitals in Japan and the UK have been the targets.
