Ukraine to allow Indian medical Students for 'state qualification exam' from India

First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine recently visited India and informed the country that Indian medical students who had returned to New Delhi after Russia's invasion will be permitted to take an essential test from India.

Emine Dzhaparova reportedly had discussions with the Indian side about a number of topics, according to the official statement from the. The Deputy FM indicated that Ukraine will permit foreign medical students to sit the Unified State Qualification Exam in their home country with regard to the Indian medical students.


When Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of February 2022, thousands of Indian medical students were left trapped with their futures hanging in the balance. A number of them were evacuated from Ukraine to India.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine met with Secretary (West), MEA, Sanjay Verma in private during her three days in New Delhi. The two sides spoke about topics of shared interest, including the economy, defense, humanitarian aid, and international problems.

The next round of Foreign Office Consultations will take place in Kyiv on a mutually suitable date, the two parties have agreed.

Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, had a visit from the Ukrainian minister. She delivered a letter from President Zelenskyy to Prime Minister Modi in addition to holding conversations on a wide variety of bilateral and global matters of shared concern, according to a MEA announcement.

Dzhaparova also visited the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and talked at the Indian Council of International Affairs.

During her visit to India, she emphasized Kyiv's desire to create a stronger relationship with New Delhi. Dzhaparova's trip to India would make it easier for the two nations to cooperate.

The first official delegation from the East European nation to visit India since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict last year was led by Ukraine's First Deputy Foreign Minister, Emine Dzhaparova, who arrived on April 10.
