A Newborn was contacted by ASHA after 3 days of home delivery . The mother was referred with the child to PHC for a routine checkup . Child should be vaccinated with which vaccines ?

A. BCG 
B. Hepatitis B 
c . BCG + Hepatitis B
D. BCG + OPV

SOLUTION : Correct Answer : D 

BCG should be given at birth and if not vaccinated on Day O. then child can be vaccinated until 1 year of age .

OPV birth dose should be given at birth or as early as possible , within 15 days .

Option A : WHO EPI Global Advisory committee recommend BCG and polio vaccine at birth or at first contact in a country where tuberculosis and polio is not controlled .
 Here , the Child is eligible for BCG and OPV both as BCG can be given for 1 year and OPV birth dose till 15 days .

So , Option D is more appropriate to answer than Option A. 

Option B : Hepatitis B should be given at birth or within 24 hours of delivery .
 
Option C : Child is only eligible to get BCG not Hepatitis B.
